Crossing to Salt Spring Island |
Saturday July 9 2011
Left Mark and Carols about 9 and headed for John's in Nanoose Bay, drove the coastal route again, it is beautiful. We stopped and took a couple pics at a dock area, there were seals there the day before but the tide was out and the seals weren't there today, too bad, wanted some pics of them. Got to John's around 10:30, his friends Bill and Pat are there visiting for a couple weeks. They were all going to Salt Spring Island and talked us into going too. We didn't have a lot of time there as we wanted to get the Ferry back to the main land to get back to Chilliwack tonight. The Ferry cost us $54.35 to go from Vancouver Island to Salt Spring Island. We walked around the market there, all crafts food etc. made on the island. It is beautiful there but expensive, gas was $1.36/l. We had fueled up in Courtney at $1.25. gas was $1.04/l. We bought some smoked tuna and smoked salmon at the market. The second ferry to go to the main land was $54. We got back to Chilliwack about 8pm.
