We have a nice big campsite Y1 - 8 @ Falcon Beach |
Joel and Hank enjoying the campfire |
We left Kenora, after a good nights sleep, and a continental breakfast. Looked up West Hawk Lake Campground but all reviews on line say it is a party park, terrible stories. We stopped at Manitoba Visitor Centre and the lady there said she hadn’t heard that but that Falcon Lake 11 km from Joel was a good place. So we got a campsite, nice big one there. We are in Falcon Beach Campground.
We have a nice big campsite, (lots of kids) we got in at a good time to pick a nice spot, it has sure filled up quick since we got here. We went to where Joel works AYA Construction. He lives in an apartment right behind the building. Got there at 4:50 he was supposed to be off work at 5. Hank asked about him and he wasn't back from the job sight yet, so they showed us where he lived and his roommate helped us unload the stuff. He got there at 5:30, it was great to see him, he is really sunburnt but looks good. He was exhausted, had been working in the water all day moving rocks (for 2 days). Talked with him and his boss Tom for awhile (nice guy) they asked why we werent in West Hawk Lake so we told them what we had read of the reviews on line. Tom couldn't believe that. He said it is really nice in there and nicer than where we are. We told him we will check it out and maybe try it when we come back at the end of our trip before we go home. We brought Joel back to our campsite and had a nice dinner. It has been too long, great catching up with him. He stayed till about 9:30, we took him back to his place. It was still light out, have to be really careful watching for deer. The bar we had heard about in West Hawk Lake was packed with people watching the hockey game, bet it was noisy tonight!!!!
Came in the trailer to watch the end of the hockey game but it was over just as we were opening up the trailer, you could here people yelling in the campground
